What We're Surfing Lately

Although Polyvore is a fashion site, we see a lot of potential for its underlying technology for the research we do.  Polyvore lets users create "looks" (what we often refer to as collages or "mood boards") with images of fashion items, accessories, album artwork, and just about anything really.  Users then upload the looks to the site for others to see.  If a viewer likes what she sees, she can link to the site where the item is sold and buy it.  In the process, Polyvore takes a comission, the retailers gets a sale, and the creator of the look has fun.  It's a win-win-win for all.
